Nearly one month after Dolly’s passing, Stella Parton, 77, reflected on the grief that has transformed her family’s world. In an emotional Facebook post shared Thursday, Sept. 24, she said she still feels her sister’s presence and believes Dolly’s legacy will continue through the kindness and generosity she planted in the lives of others.
“Her light will never go out,” Stella wrote, expressing gratitude to the countless fans who have continued to surround the Parton family with affection and support.
The family, she explained, is carrying more than one heartbreak. Their brother Denver died less than a month before Dolly, leaving loved ones to navigate multiple losses in an extraordinarily short period of time. Yet Stella emphasized that the family remains focused on moving forward for the sake of their children and grandchildren, who are also looking to them for strength during a painful and confusing chapter.
“We are still intact and moving forward,” she wrote, urging people not to assume that news reports tell the complete story of what is happening behind closed doors.
Her sister Freida Parton, 69, echoed that message one day earlier, directly addressing speculation surrounding Dolly’s nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver.
“There is no feud within our family,” Freida wrote, insisting that members of the Parton/Owens family are not fighting over Dolly’s estate. She also expressed affection for Seaver, saying simply, “We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other.”
Their statements come as a legal dispute involving Seaver has moved into the public eye. She’s Alive, LLC — an entity reportedly established by Dolly to safeguard her professional property and business interests — filed a lawsuit and sought a temporary restraining order against him on Sept. 22.
The filing contains serious allegations, including claims that Seaver attempted to pressure the estate and made threatening remarks. Seaver has denied threatening anyone and maintains that comments cited in the legal proceedings were taken out of context.
