Introduction:

The last photo Alan Osmond shared to social media of himself before his death was a sweet shot with his wife Suzanne.

In July 2025 — nine months before the musician died on April 20 at age 76 — Osmond posted a snap of himself with Suzanne to his Instagram, accompanying the photo with a verse from the Book of Mormon.

Osmond and Suzanne met at a Brigham Young University basketball game in 1974, and were married less than a month later.

“She’s a doll. She’s the love of my life,” he told his son David on KUTV in 2024. “I wrote a song about her called ‘True Love.”

The pair were married for 51 years and shared sons Michael, Nathan, Doug, David, Scott, Jon, Alex and Tyler, plus 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

According to the Daily Herald, their first date was a motorcycle ride up Y Mountain, and Osmond knew he’d met “the one” when Suzanne walked down at the end.

“When I said yes I’ll marry you, I didn’t know what I was getting into,” Suzanne said at a Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce event in November 2021, per the outlet. “Our life has been non-stop and I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Days before his final post with Suzanne, Osmond shared a photo of the couple with their grandson Luke on his way to a missionary trip in Japan.

Osmond, a member of The Osmonds alongside brothers Wayne, Merrill, Jay and Donny, retired from performing 40 years ago after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Donny, 68, shared a touching tribute to his late brother with a black-and-white photo of the two as children.

“This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me,” he wrote. “Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That’s who he was. My protector. My guide. The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine.”

Donny went on to call his brother “our leader in every sense of the word,” and said he owed him “more than I can ever fully express.”

“I love you, Alan,” he wrote. “Thank you for always being there for me. Till we meet again, Brother Donny.”
